AVM announces to present at the Cebit the further development of its especially for rout designed operating system FritzOS 7. The manufacturer calls the 7th version, which will be released in July, a “big update for Fritz products” and promises innovations in the areas of Wi-Fi, mesh and smart home. FritzOS 7 should bring all current Fritzbox models into the in-house mesh. By Fritzbox router become a mesh repeater, you should be able to increase the telephony and smart home range by mesh. All telephony functions of the central Fritzbox are then available for each as a mesh repeater integrated Fritzbox and the registered on her DECT phones (telephony mesh). For commercially acquired Fritz boxes of the series 6590 Cable, a preview version is already available. It is intended to give interested parties an outlook on the new mesh functions on the cable connection. Users can also participate in the public beta test of the older Fritzbox models 7580, 7560, 7430, 7362 SL and 4040 (more on this can be found on the Fritz Labor page). The Fritzbox 7590 should be “from the summer” in a set with the repeater FritzWLAN 1750E. And finally, AVM emphasizes that the Fritzbox 7590 is used in a pilot project in Frankfurt am Main at connections with Supervectoring 35b. Thanks to an extended frequency band, Supervectoring delivers download rates of up to 300 Mbps (35 MHz instead of just 17 MHz).
