Hello Tipton – WordPress 4.9 released

With the version named after jazz musician and bandleader “Billy Tipton” changes can now be scheduled for release in the customizer, instead of having to go live. There is also the ability to create a public preview link for a draft state so that even unregistered users can view the changes before they are published. In addition, the automatic saving of changes and the lock for accidental concurrent processing was introduced.

One long-awaited novelty is the ability to use shortcodes in widgets without the need to activate more than one line of code. There is also a new gallery widget and a button for adding media to the HTML widget, which now also supports embed.
